Hey guys! Check out the pictures from the pumpkin patch (Thanks Sarni!)! They are on the slideshow here on my blog. You can view them better on photobucket. Hi guys!
This week we will resume our normal schedule. Homework will be the same except I will give you a little more time to do it(spelling words and bear shirt are due by Thursday and you will receive the bag Thursday and it will be due Friday). The letter of the week is still N. The spelling words are: and, the, me. No bonus word this week.
Our field trip is Friday. So far, I have 2 parents going with us. Please turn in your money and permission slip by Monday afternoon. Any questions? Please see me at school anytime or email me at ashwadlund@gmail.com.

Wednesday is Dress down $1 day. Thursday is our pajama party.
I will not be at school on Friday so I can celebrate my daughter's birthday with her. Next week we will hand out report cards on Wednesday. Wednesday is a half day with NO AFTER SCHOOL. We also have Thursday/Friday off next week.

I hope you had a great first week of school! Please take time to read the information in your child's homework folder. The homework folders are due every morning, regardless if they had homework or not.
We start homework and spelling words this week. Tonight, write out our spelling words 3x each (a, I, to) and cut out an object that starts with the letter L (you can draw it or cut it out of a book or magazine) and glue or tape it on the paper shirt foudn inside your child's homework folder.

Good weekend for sports

This has been a great weekend for my teams! Cowboys pulled off their first win in the playoffs in years. FINALLY! Wildcats basketball finally showed what talent they have had all along (Horne- why have you never played like this before?), and finally the Cardinals had a close, but awesome win against the Packers. Yes!!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday break. Thank you so much to all the parents who donated items for us to bring to the Giving Tree. We had half a bus full of toys, clothing, and food to bring them. They were so surprised when we walked in with armfulls of gifts. The kids were able to play with the kids from the Giving Tree for about an hour before we said good-bye. I really feel like this was such a great experience for me and the students. I know not everyone really understood what we were doing, but even if 1 or 2 students capture it, it was well worth it to me....
